Philip R. Taft, Psy.D
Dr. Taft earned a bachelors, masters and doctorate in psychology from Baylor University. He completed his Clinical Internship at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1999 where he studied adult forensic assessment and clinical counseling extensively. He has been a licensed psychologist since 2000. He has served the Corsicana community in private practice since 2002 and was the Director of Clinical Services at the Corsicana Residential Treatment Center from 2000-2005

Randy Smith, Ph.D.
Dr. Smith joined our group part-time in 2010. Since 1994 Dr. Smith has practiced as a licensed psychologist in Texas, working with children and families in Dallas. After seven years as a community mental health provider, he began working for the Texas Youth Commission as a Director of Clinical Services, starting in 2000. The majority of his ten years at TYC was spent at the primary treatment center, providing treatment for emotionally disturbed youth in the state of Texas.

Brandi Read, M.S., LCDC-INTERN
Brandi earned her Masters Degree in Psychology from University of Phoenix in 2011. Previous to that she worked for the Alzheimer’s Association where she began her journey for more understanding of mental health issues.

Lara Proctor, LPC
Lara Proctor is a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed her undergraduate study at Texas A&M University in 1996 and earned a Masters Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M – Commerce in 2012.
Lara taught elementary school for 10 years before deciding to enter into the counseling field, the driving force of which was her oldest son. Born prematurely, he has faced developmental delays and learning differences, and the entire family has dealt with the struggles right along with him. Lara has worked with children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of issues, such as anxiety, OCD, relationship issues and grief.

Carin Palmer, MS, LPC
Carin Palmer has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2013. She believes one of the hardest things you may ever have to do is ask for help. It takes courage to be vulnerable in what may be a monumental hurt, life-changing event, or unbearable task.
She wants to meet you right where you are and walk with you in your healing journey.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor she work with adults and adolescents experiencing symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and the effects of trauma.

Lucie Black, LPC
Lucie Collins Black is a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in 1985 and her Masters of Science in Educational Psychology at Baylor University in 1999.

Kevin Jeffries, LCDC
Kevin Jeffries provides mental health services for inmates at the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. He is also accepting new clients in the office and assist on some psychological evaluations.
Kevin earned his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Administration in 2013 and a Masters Degree in Psychology and Behavioral Health in 2015 from the University of Phoenix.

Alyssa Reyes
Alyssa is our Office Manager. She was born and raised in Corsicana, Texas. She graduated in the top 10 of her senior class from Kerens High School in 2009. She attended Navarro College for two years before leaving to be a full time mom. Alyssa is now a mother of two beautiful kids, Ian and Mia.
Here at Taft and Associates Alyssa is in charge of the daily running of the office.

Maggie Stinson
Maggie is our Receptionist. She was born and raised all over Texas. She planted her roots in Kerens, Texas. Where she later graduated from in 2020. She enjoys spending time with her niece and nephew when she is not being a wonderful receptionist here at Taft and Associates.

Dr. Charles Motsinger, M.D., DFAPA, LAc.
Dr. Motsinger, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, is a clinical psychiatrist with over twenty years experience in the medical field. He is an Air Force Academy Graduate, and served in the Air Force for 25 years. He has performed various clinical duties including outpatient psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry and emergency psychiatry. Dr. Motsinger holds licenses to practice in Texas and Pennsylvania.

Krystal Raley, LPC - Equine Therapist and Trainer
Krystal received her M.A. Sport-Exercise Psychology from Argosy University-Phoenix in 2005 and interned under Barbra Schulte of “Mentally Tough Riding.” She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2007. She has worked at several residential facilities, helping adolescents, men, and women, specializing in addiction (using the 12 Step Model) with dual (mental health) diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, Autism, ADHD, and many others.

Mona Prichard, LPC, RPT
Mona Prichard received her BS in Home Economics Education from University of North Texas and a Master of Educational Leadership from Stephen F Austin University. She spent 25 years in the education field, teaching in Texas and Oklahoma and serving as a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional at Mexia State School.

Jenny Henson, LPC, LCDC
Jenny received her MS in Counseling at Texas A&M University-Commerce. She served as a police officer, teacher, school counselor, assistant principal and then a behavior specialist in education for 16 years-servicing all age levels. Her years working in the Criminal Justice system led her to become an Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor to assist clients working with addiction.

Caren Brown-Smith, LPA
Caren Brown-Smith is a dually licensed psychological associate and a licensed specialist in school psychology in the state of Texas since 1997. She earned a bachelors in psychology from Baylor University and completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Stephen F. Austin University

Samuel Severson, LMSW
Sam is a Licensed Master Social Worker. In 2015 he earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington with a specialty focus in direct clinical practice with children and families.
