Mona Prichard, LPC

Mona Prichard received her BS in Home Economics Education from University of North Texas and a Master of Educational Leadership from Stephen F Austin University. She spent 25 years in the education field, teaching in Texas and Oklahoma and serving as a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional at Mexia State School. Mona transitioned from teaching to counseling as a Special Education Counselor for K-12 students with learning disabilities or other special needs. She continued her education in counseling at Texas Woman’s University, receiving her MS in Counseling and Development in 2007 and earned the credential of Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. She is trained as a child centered play therapist which focuses on developing a therapeutic relationship with the child and giving them a safe place to express themselves through play and toys in the playroom. Mona also works with adults and adolescents and has experience with both group and individual therapy to treat depression and anxiety with women and with seniors. She uses a holistic approach that includes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing and support. Mona states, “I am eager to work with you and to support you as you set and achieve your goals for improved emotional and mental wellbeing and health."
