Jennifer Sellers, Ph.D., LPC-S,

Jennifer owned and operated a private practice, Texarkana Mental Health and Wellness Center, PLLC for many years. She is a consultant to several police agencies, including the state of Texas, on issues surrounding officer’s responses to those in a mental health crisis, the mental health and wellbeing of officers, and issues faced by spouses and family members of officer’s related to their career. She has been an invited lecturer, guest speaker, and consultant for several agencies, governmental and non-profit, on topics like self-care, crisis response, mental health, and self-compassion. Jennifer is a specialist in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition to this, she has been an instructor for the state of Texas and Kilgore College in crisis intervention. She is an invited lecturer for the Department of Defense Peer Support Program, LEAPS Training, LLC. She is an LPC-S and her treatment modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, somatic experiencing (SE), and solution-focused brief therapy.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Dallas County Juvenile Probation where she conducted crisis evaluations, assessments, and individual and group therapy with pre-adjudicated and post-adjudicated youth in the juvenile system. She has worked with a varied group of clients throughout the years in multiple settings to include those with symptoms of grief, prolonged grief, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, career related issues, marriage and family issues, and adolescents and young adults with significant issues.
