Lara Proctor, LPC
Lara Proctor is a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed her undergraduate study at Texas A&M University in 1996 and earned a Masters Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M – Commerce in 2012.
Lara taught elementary school for 10 years before deciding to enter into the counseling field, the driving force of which was her oldest son. Born prematurely, he has faced developmental delays and learning differences, and the entire family has dealt with the struggles right along with him. Lara has worked with children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of issues, such as anxiety, OCD, relationship issues and grief. For the past three years, she has seen clients through the offices of Matthew Houston, Ph.D., Price, Proctor & Associates, in DISD elementary schools as a volunteer counselor and in her own practice. Lara currently runs her own private practice in Dallas, when she is not working with us. She provides expert counseling services to a wide variety of clientele including school-aged children, adolescents and adults for individual and couples therapy.
Lara strives to develop an environment where her clients feel free to express their thoughts, feelings, desires and goals in a warm, trusting, non-judgmental relationship. She will work with you to help you learn about yourself so that you can make lifelong changes in order to have a more fulfilling and happier life.
